WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Urban Planning, who is responsible for the aviation sector, Suzanne Camelia-Römer indicated that she has noted that the aviation company AVA Airways has resorted to the media to set an ultimatum to receive an answer from the government on their economic permit.
The Minister emphasize that going to the media to put pressure on a decision from the government does not work with her. “If the management of the aviation company does not agree with the way we handle things, then they are free to go to court,” said the Minister.
According to AVA’s Chairman, Olivier Arrindel, the company just want transparency. He indicated that the President of the company, Mr. Giovanni Atalita has published the laws on how an aviation company can receive its economic permit, which precedes the process to acquire an Airline Operation Certificate (AOC). “AVA is a modern state of the art airline start up. The person that has to sign the paperwork is Minister Suzanne Camelia- Römer. Every single point in the law has been met on December 13, 2013.”
Arrindell wants to know from the Minister if his company will receive its economic permit or not.
