WILLEMSTAD – According to a press release emitted by the Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Spatial Planning, Suzanne Camelia-Römer, there are rumors on social media about the Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA)) that are not true.

This is why the Minister wants to clarify the situation as soon as possible.

The rumors indicate that there are CCAA inspectors that are on InselAir’s payroll. Apparently, these inspectors are also owners of a company that sells aircraft parts to InselAir.

Seeing these rumors, Minister Camelia-Römer decided to place these two inspectors/civil servants on mandatory leave for a period of two months. These two inspectors are not allowed to enter the offices of the CCAA during the course of the investigation.

The Minister also commissioned Forensic-Caribbean to investigate this matter. They will investigate if these two inspectors have acted against the rules and regulations of good governance. They will also investigate whether there are any relations between the two inspectors and InselAir. This investigation will take about one month.

Last week the CCAA assigned other inspectors to check various aspects of the local airline.
