WILLEMSTAD On Monday 26 September the Curacao Pride will be officially opened. This is going to be the 4th Curacao Pride organized on the island. The official opening will be done by Eugene Rhuggenaath, minister of Economic Development.

This year there will be a Pride Walk for the first time in the history of Curacao. The Pride Walk begins at the Wilhelmina square in Punda and leads us to Rif fort in Otrobanda. For the whole week, the Queen Emma Bridge will be decorated with rainbow flags, to draw attention to equal rights for the LGBT community on the island.

For the first time in the history of Curacao, there will be a film festival that wants to increase the visibility of queer and LGBT movies. In association with Floris Suite Hotel, on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 of September there will be shown special documentaries in which the topic sexual diversity is discussed. During the film festival there will be various films including the movie ‘One Kingdom One Love’ which has received much internationally attention and takes place in the various Dutch Caribbean islands.

This year we organize a total of 10 different events which take place at the Wilhelmina square, 27 Curacao, sailing ship the Insulinde, Rif fort and Floris Suite Hotel. Besides the first ever Curacao Pride Walk, the main event of the Curacao Pride will be the White Party where among others DJ RO-01 and HNLY will perform.
