WILLEMSTAD – There is currently an ongoing investigation into whiskey smuggling. This was confirmed by the Curaçao Customs.
They were not willing to share more information since the investigation is still in process.
It involves large numbers of whiskey from Venezuela to Curaçao. No import tax is paid for this product. According to Customs this investigation into the illegal import of whiskey from Venezuela is being done in cooperation with the police.
The police authorities were not available for more details.
