AMSTERDAM, WILLEMSTAD – The Dutch aviation company KLM suspends codeshare agreement with InselAir. This was announced by a spokeswoman for the company on the website Up in the Sky. KLM is doing this because of operational problems at the Curaçao company.
Aviation Consultant Hans de Jong about the problems at InselAir:
“A few weeks ago an advertisement of the InselAir appeared in the newspapers on the island were the airline offered its apologies for the inconvenience that passengers are experiencing due to operational problems. There was a loss of aircraft due to essential maintenance.”
“The fact that InselAir has been struggling for a long time is known and due to the fact that company still has a large amount of money in hard currency stuck in Venezuela, which cannot be transferred as a result of the crisis. Thus the liquidity of the company seems to have reached a questionable low level.”
“KLM announced yesterday to expand codeshare with COPA. Perhaps it is no coincidence that almost at the same time, KLM has decided to suspend codeshare with InselAir until further notice. Unfortunately for InselAir, which is already going through a difficult time, but an understandable decision.”
InselAir, which has its home base in Curaçao, has a fleet of 16 Fokker and McDonnell Douglas aircraft. The company flies to 22 destinations in the Caribbean.

Dit bevestigt de geruchten dat Insel Air op omvallen staat.
Als volgende week de salarissen niet betaald kunnen worden breekt intern de pleuris uit en zal het vertrek van Heerenveen en zijn adjudant Lippinkhof geeist worden.
Heerenveen kan echter makkelijk leven van het riante salaris van zijn eega, het sprekende mantelpak Stella van Rijn, terwijl Lippinkhof best terug kan naar de carrental waar hij vandaan komt.
