WILLEMSTAD, ORANJESTAD – The Venezuelan National Institute of Civil Aviation (INAC) implemented a complete blockade between Venezuela and the ABC Islands, Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. This is according to a report from the Aruban site, NoticiaCla.com.
This blockade is the same as the one that was announced earlier this year, which was on January 4, 2018. Afterwards, the Venezuelan authorities eased the blockade where they allowed aerial transfer for Dutch citizens who were stranded in Venezuela. This exception, according to NoticiaCla, has been completely eliminated today.
Source in INAC indicated to NoticiaCla confirmed this news today but did not go into details about what the reasons were for this measure. This measure was announced to all parties involved yesterday and is valid until further notice. This affects all boats and aircraft both commercial and private traveling between Venezuela and the ABC Islands.
The problem now is that there are several Venezuelan passengers stranded in Miami who have to return to Venezuela via Aruba. These passengers are waiting for the airline to announce what will happen now.
