Prime Minister Ivar Asjes fed up with insinuations of the Netherlands

WILLEMSTAD – Some politicians in the Netherlands continue to criticize Curaçao without knowing what they are talking. Prime Minister Ivar Asjes indicated clearly during his last press conference that he’s fed up with these politicians.

When he was asked for his reaction to the motion adopted in the Lower House of the Dutch Parliament to investigate the flow of illegal money in Curaçao’s politics and the mixing of upper and underworld, the Prime Minister said; “I cannot say anything about what happens in the Dutch parliament. We must interact maturely and that’s what I told the Minister of Kingdom Relations.”

But after repeated question on the same question, Asjes indicated that he’s had enough of the insinuations expressed by some politicians in the Netherlands about Curaçao.

Although Asjes mentioned no names, it is clear that the irritation of the Prime Minister especially is on the MP for the Socialist Party (SP), Ronald van Raak and VVD colleague André Bosman. They presented the motions in which they indicated the “increasing evidence of infiltration of dirty money in the government of Curaçao and Sint Maarten”. This was especially on the gambling world.

  1. Well, if he has nothing to hide why is he so fed up? He should come clean about the claims (all of them public secret) and show the dutch the kind of angels he and his crooks are. End of story.

  2. The father in law of this PM is one of the leading casino owners in Curacao. Dutch politicians try to prove that billions of dollars are whitewashed trough the gambling world and that political parties receive funds of these casino owners. Curacao is an autonomus part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The PM Asjes does not like any attention to this matter, wich he deems to be a Curacao matter.
