WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao famous DJ and radio producer RO1, also known as DJ Zoontje, will be the ambassador for the upcoming Curaçao Pride. The organizers of the Pride are very pleased that the locally famous DJ cares about this topic.
Despite RO1 is not gay, he finds it important that Curaçao is moving forward in tolerance and acceptance:
“I think it’s important that the taboo about gay people is broken on Curaçao. Let people live their lives as they want to and that we all accept the gay world. If we do this, I also see a great economic value for Curaçao. Gay couples often have a double income and no kids. They love luxury and are willing to pay for it. If we convert to tourism, Curaçao will definitely benefit from it. ”
The Curaçao Pride will take place this year on Sept. 30. t / m Oct 4. More information about the different celebrations can be found on www.curacaopride.com
