WILLEMSTAD – According to a press release emitted by the public company United Telecommunication Services (UTS), they’ve always had the national interest in mind when they invested 5 million in the data center CTX to keep it operating.
UTS claims to have had the national interest in mind and also to secure future revenue for the company. This is why they decided to take over CTEX’s debts to various financial institutions.
According to UTS the outstanding debt totals about 30 million dollars, but that they were able to take them over for much less than that.

Het verdienmodel van CTEX was ongeveer als volgt:
‘wanneer alle servers in gebruik zijn (lees: verhuurd) dan brengt dat iets van 200,000 USD per maand op. De kosten daarentegen zijn iedere maand rond de 500,000 USD.
Iets vertelt me dat dit geen rendabele investering is, maar ben er nog niet helemaal achter waar nu de ‘crux’ zit. (lol)
Je hebt er weinig aan om een schuld voor veel (?) minder over te nemen als je niets kunt verdienen met CTEX.
Helaas geeft UTS ook niet aan wat nou precies die ‘national interest’ is. Volgens mij heeft Curaçao geen belang bij CTEX. Het is een ‘nationaal zwart gat’ waar geld in verdwijnt, daar zijn er al zoveel van in Curaçao.
