It brought in humanitarian aid and will leave the local waters with United States citizens bound for home | Daily Herald

PHILIPSBURG–A familiar sight has returned to Great Bay – cruise ship Adventure of the Seas – is in port today. The ship dock along since the cruise pier at Dr. A.C. Wathey Cruise and Cargo Facilities around 11:00am.

The ship did not bring cruise passengers to the country. It brought in humanitarian aid and will leave the local waters with United States citizens bound for home.

Adventure of the Seas is one of four Royal Caribbean Cruises expected to called at ports, including St. Maarten, that have been ravaged by monster Hurricane Irma. RCCL is a long-time partner of St. Maarten.

RCCL has dispatched ships to St. Thomas and St. Maarten and stand ready to assist Key West, Tampa and other locations.

Majesty of the Seas will make humanitarian calls in St. Thomas and St. Maarten to provide supplies and also assist in transporting evacuees in St. Maarten to safety.
