WILLEMSTAD – The case involving the former Director of the Giro Bank Eric Garcia will be postponed. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Public Prosecution, Norman Serphos.
The presiding judge will announce this Friday the new date for the treatment of the case.
Reason for the postponement is that there are several witnesses who still have to be heard. But also another judge will take over. This new judge will need time to study the case.
Eric Garcia has lied about depositing a large sum of money, 11 million dollars, on an account at the Maduro & Curiel’s Bank (MCB) in Curaçao. This did not happen. Instead, he deposited the money in his own bank account.
“Garcia said that he was going to deposit this money at Banco de Maracaibo, but this bank was later declared bankrupt and he was appointed as one of the curators, together with lawyers Robert Blauw and Valery Maria.
After a while, Mrs. Valery Maria requested information about the deposit at the MCB Bank. She started an investigation to know whether Garcia had really made that deposit or not. MCB notified her that the deposit never took place. This is when she filed the complaint against Garcia at the Public Prosecution (OM).
The documents Garcia had sent to Maria and the OM as proof of deposit were forged. After Maria filed the complaint, OM immediately started an investigation, which led to Garcia’s arrest.

Het verdienmodel van Garcia en Capella was vermoed ik als volgt.
Een lening van 100 geven aan eens kansloze onderneming, laten we Ctex nemen.
Ctex ontvangt 100 en betaalt onder de tafel 10 terug aan Garcia en 10 aan Capella. 50 steekt Ctex (Anthony de Lima) in eigen zak.
Met de resterende 30 worden een paar jaar de aflossingen en rente betaald, zodat het een gezonde lening lijkt die Garcia en Capella verstrekt hebben. Pas als die 30 op is ploft de lening.
Overigens deden Garcia en Capella het in werkelijkheid nog veel schandaliger: ze lieten zich zelfs op de payroll van Ctex zetten,
Ongelooflijk dat deze zaak zo lang moet duren.
En Garcia drinkt er in de Heeren geen glas minder om met buddy van der Kwast, commissaris bij Insel Air (nee, Frielink is daar niet de enige nietsnut).
Overigens is Garcia’s partner in crime, de Zuurzak patser Stephen Capella, ook nog niet voor de rechter geweest.
Door Garcia en Capella verliezen 150 mensen hun baan bij Girobank, wellicht nog meer want een faillissement van de bank is niet ver weg nu daar de zoveelste door dit criminele duo verstrekte lening (Kura Hulanda) afgeschreven moet worden.
